The Southeast Missouri Network Against Sexual Violence (SEMO-NASV) was formed in the summer of 1997. Several meetings occurred involving a wide cross-section of human services professionals, including medical and law enforcement personnel, to address the unmet needs of child and adult victims of sexual violence. NASV helped 42 clients during its first year of operation and has now provided care to more than 3000 victims since opening its doors.
The agency is located in Doctors’ Park in Cape Girardeau, MO and serves nine counties in southeast Missouri. It is the only child abuse center in the region and employs twelve staff members.
